I chose to do food photography for my personal project, and let’s just say it was an experience I wouldn’t trade for anything else. At the beginner photography camp, myself and others had the opportunity to shoot some delicious cupcakes for a day. When I saw my photos of those desserts for the first time, I knew I could pursue something like food photography. This type of photography requires many detailed shots in order to display little aspects of a dish the regular human eye wouldn’t catch. So for these pictures, not only did I use wide angles to emphasize a vibe to the dishes, I also used closeups, filters and zoom angles to make the unappreciated features of the dishes pop. My mission was to help viewers almost taste the dish just by looking at it, and I’m very proud of how I fulfilled that.
