My focus for this week was product photography. I picked this because I plan on assisting in promoting small businesses and brands. Over the course of the week I had the privilege of shooting candles for Sasha Sass Candles. I really wanted to capture the comfort that you experience when burning her candles. When shooting candles or products in general you’re either going to be doing most of your work from above or down low in the ground. The main thing I wanted to focus on was getting the angles right and making sure that the lighting is bright and inviting. For my other half of the project I focused on greeting cards from Tough Skin Soft Heart. The designs of the cards speak for themselve so I didn’t want to do too much in the background. I wanted to keep it simple and light because that’s the vibe that I was receiving from the cards. I really enjoyed the photography program. I gained everything and more out of it. From the people to the information that I learned, this was a really great program. I would recommend this program to anyone, even if they’re not interested in photography because it just allows you to step back and really take in and study what you’re looking at.
