College Scholarship Opportunity
Coaching Detroit Forward is thrilled to announce we are awarding a $1,000 college scholarship to a student who has attended a CDF summer journalism or photography camp.
As we tell our students, we are here for them long after a summer camp ends. Our coaches provide continuing education and job opportunities, recommendation letters, resume assistance, career advice and more. Many of our students pursue a writing, photography or arts-related field after they complete our programs and graduate high school. Others use the skills they gain to freelance, launch a side business and seek internships.
We want to support their higher education pursuits and career goals. Our 2023 college scholarship application is open to Coaching Detroit Forward student alumni who are currently attending a college or university or high school seniors planning to attend a college or university next year. Funds can be used for college expenses, including room and board, books, class materials and other cost of living expenses.
Applications will be reviewed by several coaches. The recipient will be notified by late October and will be asked to attend our Perspectives Magazine 2023 Launch Party on Nov. 9 2023 in Detroit to receive the scholarship in person.
